I am always drawn to figurative work in watercolour.
The medium can be very challenging when painting figurative works but the challenges are worth it!
The human face and form are not unlike a landscape to me as  both are shaped by the effects of the elements and time.
From the beautiful,  subtle nuances  of a child's face to that of a  mature adult, the human face is endlessly fascinating .....and each one has a story to tell.
I love the mapping out  and seeing the story unfold as I put brush to paper.
